Knowledge management
A discipline involved in creating systems and processes that enable an organisation to structure knowledge to gain more benefits from it, particular the knowledge it has and needs and that of its human resources. Structuring knowledge helps the activities of knowledge identification, capture, distribution and use. Knowledge management incorporates knowledge mapping and creation of an information architecture to help answer who, what, where, when and why questions. The outcome is reduced information duplication and increased efficiency in getting the right information, to the right people and the right time.
